Betty R. Lubey, 82, of Utica, passed away Monday, May 21, 2007, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. She was born May 2, 1925 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Walter and Pauline Lawrence Teale. She attended Rochester Schools. Betty was married to Andy Rodzinka in Utica in 1952. He died in 1969. She later married Thomas Lubey in 1977 in Utica. Betty was employed with Mele Manufacturing Co. for 21 years and was a member of the Whitestown American Legion. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and crafts, and enjoyed camping at Raquette Lake with her husband, Thomas. Surviving are her husband, Thomas, Utica; two daughters, Linda Trent, Rome, and Janet Little, Blossvale; three grandchildren, Robert Jr., Todd and Shawn; three great-grandchildren, one niece and several nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, George. Funeral services for Betty will commence Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at Surridge & Roberts Funeral Homes, 470 French Rd., South Utica. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses Staff at Faxton-St. Luke's for the care and compassion shown to Betty.
